Henry Kissinger the 97-year-old former US secretary of state -

"For the first time in human history, humanity has the capacity to
extinguish itself in a finite period of time," Kissinger said. We have
developed the technology of a power that is beyond what anybody
imagined even 70 years ago."

"And now, to the nuclear issue is added the high tech issue, which in
the field of artificial intelligence, in its essence is based on the
fact that man becomes a partner of machines and that machines can
develop their own judgement," he said.

Some 70% of the world's microchips (also known as semiconductors) are
made in Taiwan and South Korea. Late last year, the Trump
administration blacklisted dozens of Chinese companies, including the
communist nation’s top chipmaker. The aim was to cut off U.S.
technology from being used to make advanced weapons for the Chinese
military.

The Biden administration has followed suit.

Two weeks ago, the White House blacklisted seven Chinese companies to
keep the largest chipmaker in the world, the Taiwan Semiconductor
Manufacturing Company (TSMC), from selling advanced microchips to
China. Those chips would have been used to make advanced weapons as
well, officials said when announcing the sanctions. Beijing continues
to lag in domestic manufacturing of computer chips and relies on
imports to support its growing economy.

[Last two sentences and end of article. AI written, perhaps.] When
his dad died, a former Nazi soldier to occupational peacetime
policeman, his family asked him to return, which evinced from a
girlfriend, at the time, some concern as to his decision not to -- as

(Along with of possible interest a brief syndicated mention for up and

It wouldn't surprise me if the USA is correct in their speculations and if
China is already at their late stages of developing an android/mechanical
soldier or what, given how they have been aggressive in amassing resources
these recent years.
