If GODZILLA VS. KONG sounds to you like a WWF event, you haven't been
misled ...as it's all-action all the time, with CGI behemoths
over-emoting every continent-cracking body slam. Pity the name actors
here, whose sporadic few seconds of screen-time feel like the parsley at
a pig-roast. (N.B.: this $200m epic was shot in 2.39:1, but HBOMax
unconscionably fills your 16:9 flattie with chopped-ear pan-n-scan.)
Though purely as eye-candy for a pandemic lockdown, GVK is recommended.

I haven't seen all the movies, but this is the first one I've seen where
Kong had a backstory so to say it's all action just isn't true.

I like this better than the first though, not to mention the appearance of the
new enemy dominating Godzilla in many ways. Since the nature of the new enemy
was a (spoiler) then I'm hoping for a sequel where we get to see again that
new enemy!
